Make Asbury Park Count! Take the 2020 Census.

By now, every residence in Asbury Park has received a mailing from the 2020 Census. Taken every 10 years, the Census is a count of every person who lives in the U.S. and determines how the federal government distributes over $675 billion in funding to states and municipalities each year. It’s also responsible for determining how many representatives will be sent to Congress from each state.

There’s still time to respond!

Take the 2020 Census and make sure Asbury Park doesn’t lose:

•             SNAP Food Assistance

•             Head Start Education Programs

•             Section 8 Housing Assistance

•             Unemployment Insurance

•             Roadwork & Infrastructure Funding

•             Community Development Block Grant Funding

Is my information safe?
Your responses to the Census are safe, secure, and protected by federal law. Your answers can only be used to produce statistics. They cannot be used against you by any government agency (FBI, CIA, DHS or ICE) or court in any way.

What will I be asked?
You will be asked a few simple questions, like age, sex, and the number of people living in your home, including children.

What won’t I be asked?
The Census will never ask for Social Security numbers, bank or credit card numbers, money or donations, or anything politically related.

Is it easy to take the Census?
Yes! The Census takes about 10 minutes. It can be taken in 13 languages online or on the phone, and the paper form is available in English or Spanish.

Don’t miss your chance to help shape our future and make sure Asbury Park counts!
