City Facility Closures & Continuation of Services

City operations will continue, but, all City facilities are closed to the public until further notice including City Hall, Municipal Court, Public Library, Senior Center, DPW, Transportation Center, Parking Office and Boardwalk. City Departments will be responsive to residents by phone and online communications. All essential services will continue to operate, including Police, Fire, EMS and DPW. Garbage and recycling services will not be interrupted. Updates, information and advisories on how our community is being affected will continue to be provided as they become available.


  • CITY EVENTS AND MEETINGS: All City events are canceled through the end of April, including all City designated committee, board and commission meetings. At the end of April, the situation will be assessed and a determination will be made for May events and meetings.
  • CITY CLERK: All requests for certified copies of vital records (birth, marriage, death certificates) should be placed with the NJ Department of Health, Office of Vital Statistics online at: . For questions, call 732-502-5721.
  • CITY COURT: All court sessions are suspended through 5/1/20. Court offices will be staffed for payments and inquiries via phone. For information, 732-775-1765 or
  • CONSTRUCTION, CODE & FIRE INSPECTIONS: Limited Construction, Code Enforcement and Fire inspections will be conducted while City Hall is closed. New permit applications can be emailed or mailed. Construction: 732-502-5722. Code enforcement: 732-502-5742. Fire Department: 732-775-6300.
  • DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Garbage and recycling services will remain uninterrupted. For questions, call 732-775-0900.
  • TAX COLLECTIONS: Payments can be made online or dropped off at the after-hours drop box to the left of the main entrance of City Hall at 1 Municipal Plaza. For information, 732-502-5198 or
