6/21/23, Asbury Park, NJ – The City of Asbury Park’s Department of Cultural & Community Affairs will be kicking off a free summer movies series on Thursday, June 29th with a showing of The Sandlot in Sunset Park. The summer movie series is open to adults and children of all ages and will run through August with showings outdoors in both Sunset Park and Springwood Park. Movies will play weather permitting and begin at 8pm (or at dusk). Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and can enjoy free popcorn and drinks.
“The summer movie series is the perfect way to spend quality family time outdoors in our City’s beautiful parks” said Community & Cultural Affairs Director and Community Development Block Grant Administrator Cassandra Dickerson, “These free events are putting Community Development Block Grant funding to work for Asbury Park residents.”
“The City is pleased to offer the summer movie series – a fun, free, family-friendly recreational activity,” said Mayor John Moor, “We hope residents of all ages will take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy these films with their community.”
