4/29/22, Asbury Park, NJ – The City of Asbury Park is in the preliminary stages of design for a new firehouse to be located on Memorial Drive between Bangs and Springwood Avenues. The City’s engineering firm, T&M Associates, along with project architect Shore Point Architecture, presented design plans to Mayor and Council at the Wednesday, 4/27/22 Council Meeting. The approximately 30,000 square foot facility will include an emergency management command center, a meeting room, a museum area and flex space for training, rentals and special events. The City is also considering installation of rooftop solar panels.
“We are thankful to Mayor & Council for providing the opportunity to construct a new firehouse,” said Asbury Park Fire Department Chief Kevin Keddy, “The current facility has served the City for well for over a century. It’s time to move our team into a modern building to better support our current needs and prepare for the future. This facility is not only an investment in the Fire Department, but also an investment in the community we serve.”
