The City of Asbury Park continues to improve the parking experience for residents, employees and visitors. Beginning January 3, 2022, the City will expand certain alternate side, permit, and metered parking areas and update permit regulations with the goal of increasing turnover and allowing residents to more easily find parking spaces. 2022 Parking Permits will go on sale January 3, 2022 – and to give existing parking permit holders time to purchase their 2022 permits, existing 2021 residential permits will be valid until March 31, 2022 and existing 2021 employee permits will be valid until January 31, 2022. Enforcement of expanded metered parking areas will begin April 1, 2022.

  • Zone 2
    1. Bergh Street between Asbury and Third Avenues will be converted to metered parking and added to the permit parking area
    2. First Avenue between Bergh Street and Grand Avenue will be converted to metered parking and added to the permit parking area
    3. Heck Street between Asbury Avenue and First Avenue will be converted to metered parking and added to the permit parking area
  • Zone 3
    1. Resident-only parking on the north side of Third Avenue between Grand Avenue and Bergh Street will be introduced
    2. The south side of Third Avenue between Bergh Street and Grand Avenue will be converted to metered parking and added to the permit parking area
