What you need to know about listing your event in the “What’s Happening in Asbury Park This Week” weekly email newsletter:
What can be included?
Events can be included in the newsletter if they take place in Asbury Park and are open to the public – either free or ticketed. Generally, reoccurring events (such as weekly yoga classes) or one-faith-specific events are not included in the newsletter. Discounts, deals, or sales (apart from sales as related to special events) are also not included in the newsletter. The City of Asbury Park reserves the right to edit information provided and will make the final determination on what is included in the newsletter.
When does it go out and who does it go to?
The email goes out on Thursdays to over 6,000 email newsletter subscribers.
What does it cover?
The email covers 10 days of events taking place in Asbury Park – from that Thursday through the next Sunday. Due to the volume of submissions we receive for coverage, we can only include events within this timeframe.
What is the due date for submissions and where do you send them?
Submissions are due at least 2 weeks prior to the event date and should be emailed to email@example.com. We will make best efforts to include material provided after the deadline but cannot guarantee coverage.
What should submissions include?
Submissions must include event details, listed clearly and concisely in the body of the email, in addition to attaching any flyers, invitations, or photos. Necessary event details include: date, time, location, short description of event, and any admission or ticket price associated with the event along with a link to the affiliated website or ticket purchasing platform. We cannot guarantee inclusion of photos that are provided.
What else do I need to know?
This is a free service provided by the City of Asbury Park. The City of Asbury Park will make the final determination on what is included in the newsletter. Due to the volume of submissions received, we are unable to respond to every email.
