The City of Asbury Park, in partnership with the Asbury Park Arts Council, is pleased to announce the kickoff of the Summer 2021 Mural Art Project May 21-23!
Local and regional artists will take over Asbury Park as part of the City’s ReOpen [Realizing Opportunities for Public Enjoyment of Neighborhoods] initiative, aiming to bring art front and center after what feels like a long hiatus of exposure to the arts for many. The project not only honors the City’s art-centric foundation, it showcases burgeoning and established local artists, while introducing residents and visitors to an esoteric art experience. Catch a glimpse of the thirteen participating artists (chosen from over 60 submissions) as they create mural installations along Cookman Avenue and in Springwood Park over the weekend. The Summer 2021 Mural Art Project will be part of a larger self-guided walking, biking and/or scooting public art tour; stay tuned for details.
