[ARCHIVED] AP Public Art Commission Seeking Local Artists

Public Art Looking for Artists

Asbury Park Public Arts Commission Seeking Local Artists – Application Deadline April 12, 2021

The Asbury Park Public Arts Commission is seeking local artists who would be interested in painting murals on 6X6 panels to be displayed throughout the City. The murals would be temporary and would be displayed in our downtown area, on and around Cookman Avenue, and in Springwood Park. We have seven double sided panels and will pick up to 14 artists. The Commission will select the artists at their April 19, 2021 meeting and would anticipate an early May start date. The panels will be painted in the field.

Local artists of all levels are encouraged to apply. There is no stipend, but the City can supply materials for up to $250 per panel.

To be considered, submit a design to Michele Alonso, Director of Planning and Redevelopment, at michele.alonso@cityofasburypark.com no later than 4/12/21. The design should be scaled to the size of the panel.
