Participatory Budget Committee: In the ongoing effort to better serve the community, the Mayor and City Council have announced the establishment of a City of Asbury Park Participatory Budget Committee to involve community members, including local youth, in deciding how a designated portion of the City of Asbury Park budget is spent. The Finance Department is responsible for the financial administration of the City.
Responsibilities include the preparation of the Annual Operating Budget, Annual Debt Statement, Annual Financial Statement, daily cash flow, temporary and permanent financing for General and Utility obligations, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, purchasing and accounts payable functions.
Tax & Sewer Collection, the Tax Assessment process, and Human Resources are also overseen by the Finance Department.
