Surveillance Camera Registration

The Asbury Park Police Department (APPD) is committed to utilizing every resource to prevent and solve crimes and to protect our citizens and their property. Many residents and businesses are now utilizing surveillance cameras that may capture incidents, without the owner’s knowledge, which may help solve crimes and keep the town safe. The Asbury Park Police Department is asking residents and businesses throughout the City to register their privately owned surveillance cameras to assist with investigations.

As officers responded to reports of criminal activity within the community, they may be able to use the information or footage captured on these surveillance cameras to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of the criminals involved. The program is voluntary and your information will not be shared. Participants will only be contacted by the Asbury Park Police Department if there is an incident within the vicinity of your camera system, and officers or detectives need to request to view footage in order to assist in the investigation.
