Well another record-breaking weekend! They just keep coming and we will put our best foot forward to make it happen again this weekend. I have spoken to my pals at Weather Gurus LLC and they are working their magic to move the Earl further off shore. So, not to worry about this weekend, but there will be big surf. Hard to believe it's Labor Day Weekend already. I want to get this out early this week because I know many of you have already started your weekend! So let it begin. Only in Asbury Park!
So, a five day weekend for most of you - make sure you spend most/all of it at the best beach on the Jersey Shore! Lots of music on the boardwalk all weekend. Madison Marquette will be starting their Friday night bonfires this weekend starting Sept 3rd at the Fifth Ave beach and then every Friday after that. The Paramount Sessions takes place on Saturday night at the Paramount Theatre starting at 7 pm. This is a free ticketed event featuring Rick Barry, Jerzy Jung, Outside the Box and many special guests. Beach fireworks on Sunday evening. Huge!
And, as we all know, there is always great action in the city. It's the first Saturday of the month, so it must be First Saturday! This month's theme is ironically "Labor of Love." Bring some new and unopened paper products or household cleaning supplies to the Passion Group, 600 Cookman and get a free swag bag full of cool stuff like a $20 gift card to McLoone's. Beneficiaries of these efforts are the Affordable Housing Alliance, Interfaith neighbors and Costal Habitat for Humanity. You will also find great music, unique shopping and of course our great restaurants. Free parking in the Bangs Ave Garage in Friday and Saturday nights is compliments of TAKA and Trinity & The Pope. Josh Zuckerman will perform on the outdoor stage at Press Plaza. Special kudos to our sponsor, The Passion Group, for pulling this off every month. Only in Asbury Park!
Grand Opening of Humorandgrace located at 305 Bond Street, Saturday, September 4th. Come meet designer Casey Pyle and check her beautiful clothing created right on site. Fall Fashion show starts at 6 pm and then dance to live music. Cool!
